That means beautiful tattoos — and the greatest possible care for your skin and wellbeing.
Our work
Established in 1998, Body Canvas is a tattoo studio based in London and Mumbai. Every piece is created with care, passion and attention to detail.

How it works
From the first conversation to the healed piece, here’s what to expect.
1. Consultation
We offer a free face-to-face consultation where you can ask questions, show references and talk through pre- and aftercare.
We assess the best placement and size for your tattoo and its style, and give you transparent information about our charges and an estimated price. Then we plan the best date and time for your appointment.
2. Design
Once you’re happy and ready to go ahead, we take a deposit that reserves your slot and lets us start designing. The deposit is deducted from the total cost. It is non-refundable within 48 hours of the appointment, and you can reschedule once.
We take great pride in designs that are authentic and reflect your vision. We take your comments on board and, if needed, invite you in before the appointment to review the size and design.
3. Pricing
Our prices depend on the size and style of your tattoo, so we give you a price at the consultation. If you decide on a bigger piece, or the time spent differs from the estimate, we’ll explain how that works before we go further.
4. Tattooing day
Get a good night’s rest and eat a proper meal beforehand — being tired or hungry can make the session more painful. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners the day before, as they cause more bleeding and can affect healing.
We’re strict about health and safety. The studio is cleaned daily, we set up an individual station for you, and we open sealed, disposable needles in front of you and dispose of them once we’re done.
Which style to choose?
Choosing the right style for your idea can feel overwhelming with so many options out there. We’re happy to guide you. Each of our artists specialises in different techniques — fine line, abstract, realism, geometric, watercolour and more — and we’ll help with the concept so your tattoo is meaningful and beautifully executed.

Do you do cover-ups?
Our artists are experienced in two kinds of cover-up.
Tattoo cover-ups and touch-ups
A tattoo is deeply personal — one you hope to love forever. But sometimes things don’t work out as intended. Perhaps the design wasn’t quite right, or over time it has lost its vibrancy.
That’s where cover-ups and touch-ups come in. Your tastes may have evolved, or the tattoo isn’t quite how you envisioned it. A skilled artist can rework it into something entirely new, or make a few careful changes. Sometimes only some details have faded and a touch-up is all you need.
There’s nothing shameful about wanting to revise a tattoo. Tattoos grow and change with us, and many people return to one at a new stage of life. The key is an artist whose skill and sensibility can help you find the right path — a cover-up, a touch-up or something in between.
Scars, burns, stretch marks and vitiligo
It is completely normal to have different skin states — hyper- or hypopigmentation, vitiligo, stretch marks, scars, burns or grafts. We are all beautiful as we are, and there is no need to change.
But we all have a choice about what to do with our bodies. We offer tattoo cover-ups on any desired area: turning a scar into art, blending it into your skin, or incorporating it into a design. Working on scarred, pigmented or stretched skin isn’t easy, and our artists have trained extensively to create the right contours and texture.
Not everyone wants a tattoo for its own sake. If you’d prefer a more natural, restorative approach, we offer medical micropigmentation (paramedical tattooing). It reduces the visibility of scars, burns, stretch marks, vitiligo, hypopigmentation and alopecia, and is also used for areola and nipple reconstruction.
Whichever you choose, our dedication to giving you the best result is the same. We’ll guide you through the process and help you decide what’s best for your vision and comfort.
Tattoo FAQ
The questions we’re asked most often.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, we accept walk-ins. The studio may be fully booked, though, so for a consultation or appointment it’s best to get in touch first and we’ll find the most suitable date and time for you.
What is the minimum age for a tattoo?
The minimum age for a tattoo is 18. You may be asked to show ID in the studio.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
All our consultations are complimentary. To book a service we take a deposit to reserve your slot. The deposit is non-refundable within 48 hours of the appointment, and you can reschedule once.
I want a tattoo but don’t know what. Can you help with the design?
Yes. Our team specialises in bespoke design and will help you create your tattoo.
What should I do before my appointment?
Sleep and eat well — your body needs strength and energy during the session. Applying moisturising cream to the area for a couple of days beforehand helps get the best results.
What should I do after my tattoo is done?
Don’t touch or lean on the tattooed area. If it swells, ice packs help. Avoid sunbathing and swimming for at least 3 weeks.
How do I book an appointment?
Send us a message on WhatsApp, a DM on Instagram @bodycanvaslondon, an email to info@bodycanvas.uk or call +44 7769 210699.
How do you charge for tattoos?
We give you an estimated cost at the consultation, depending on the area, placement and design. You’ll have a clear understanding of the price and the number of sittings.
Do you tattoo intimate areas?
No, we don’t tattoo intimate areas.
Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we won’t be able to do a procedure for you, as your body is already going through a lot of changes and we don’t want any possible risk for you and your baby. We’re happy to see you 12 months after the birth, or once the baby is no longer dependent on you.
I have a medical condition. Can I get a tattoo?
We need to know which medical condition you have, as certain conditions make a procedure unsafe. If you’re unsure, check with your GP before your appointment.
I’ve changed my mind. Can I get my deposit back?
The deposit is non-refundable within 48 hours of the appointment. You can reschedule once.
How long does a tattoo take to heal?
Around 45 days. Once it’s fully healed we usually arrange a follow-up appointment to check on it.
